Oriental Medicine

Oriental Medicine is a holistic practice that considers the mind, body, and spirit when evaluating, treating, and healing an individual. The medicine’s main objective is to bring balance to a persons unique constitution. Oriental Medicine understands that the body is at optimal health when there is a balance between what it describes as yin and yang. Yin and yang are two counterparts to a whole that have a dynamic relationship, turning into each other. An example of this is how night turns into day and day turns back into night. Balance between yin and yang within the human body is achieved from various techniques such as acupuncture, herbology, food therapy, qi-gong, tai-chi, acupressure and meditation just to name a few. As an Oriental Medicine student you will learn to recognize these imbalances and the various techniques to resolve them.
